APRICTC is the leading sheet piling contractor in the Philippines. We have been in the industry for some time now and still have been showing competence since.
We in APRICTC only use modern technology and state of the art equipment for sheet piling services done in the Philippines. APRICTC have done many sheet piling projects in areas from NCR all throughout Mindanao.
Sheet piles are sections of sheet materials with interlocking edges that are driven into the ground to provide earth retention and excavation support and one type of piling.
The difference between normal pile and sheet pile is sheet pile used as temporary while normal pile used as permanent. Sheet pile can be made from many types of materials such as steel, plastic, wood, vinyl, recast concrete, and fiberglass. While the most common material to be used for sheet pile is steel sheet pile.
Sheet pile is act as a temporary supportive wall that been driven into a slope or excavation to support the soft soils collapse from higher ground to lower ground.
Steel Sheet Piling
Steel sheet piling is a rolled structural steel section with interlocks on the flange tips which enable the joining of sections to form a continuous wall.
Sheet pile walls are constructed by driving prefabricated sections into the ground. Soil conditions may allow for the sections to be vibrated into ground instead of it being hammer driven. The full wall is formed by connecting the joints of adjacent sheet pile sections in sequential installation.
Sheet Piling Process
The concept of sheet piling is pretty straightforward. Wherever a wall or siding needs to be held back, steel sheets are wedged into the earth at predetermined intervals. The sheets are driven into the soil with vibratory or impact hammers. In some cases they may be installed with hydraulic presses. The placed sheets interlock with each other, enabling variable designs that can be adapted for a specific retention job. If even more strength is needed, anchors are easy to add. The adaptability of the sheet piling means supports can be as temporary or permanent as needed. Sheet piling is used to protect or construct:
- Parking structures
- Seawalls and bulkheads
- Pump houses
- Below ground facilities
